Want to learn more? Come and watch us during our regular training - anyone is welcome! In fact, we regularly have an audience of the general public. See Members training for times and location.

Please be aware that if you want to chat with any of the members or the Club committee, please wait until training has finished. We cannot chat with you once training has started.

We hold a beginners course once a year starting in February/March (depends on semester timetable). The first few sessions are free, so come along and see what Kendo is all about! Please see the link below for more information.

Want to train with us? For people with no prior Kendo experience, and for experienced Kendoka, please visit MonashSport –> Kendo –> Join Us.

Tip

Please double check our Facebook group for any last-minute changes to the below training times. This is especially the case if the date is near

  • Conflicting VKR and AKR Kendo events, e.g. yearly Nittaidai visit
  • Public holidays
  • University holidays
  • Public emergencies, e.g. COVID lockdowns

You can find us training in Monash Sport, 42 Scenic Boulevard, Monash University Clayton Campus at the following times:

  • Monday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Games Hall)
  • Wednesday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Games Hall)
  • (Occasional extra training) Saturday 9:00 am - 10:30 am (Stadium) - senior members (training in full armour) only

Closed dates

During the year, the club closes for holidays, usually 1 week during Christmas break and for some University holidays. Please check the Facebook group for the latest information regarding closed dates.
